The youth ornithological camp will be organized in the beginning of school holidays, from 25th June to 2nd July 2012 at the Slovenian coast. Invited are young adults between 11 and 22 years old who wish to deepen their knowledge in ornithology and nature conservation, to improve bird identification skills at the field and to associate and share experience with other young people and the mentors.
Six groups led by experienced mentors – ornithologists and other experts will be working at the camp. A group will consist of maximum four participants. Each group will make a research on a predefined topic. The camp will be dedicated mainly to research of marine birds, especially the Mediterranean Shag (Phalacrocorax aristotelis desmarestii) and presentation of conservation and ornithological themes to the public. Besides more specialized groups there will also be some groups for the beginners.
